Our Story
Uyisenga Ni Imanzi (UNM) is a Rwandan non-profit organization founded in 2002 by five philanthropists to support orphan-headed households, children affected by the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, HIV/AIDS, and young girls who experienced violence. In the aftermath of the genocide, many children were left without parents, forced to care for their siblings while facing deep emotional trauma, poverty, and social isolation. UNM began by offering essential services, including education, medical care, shelter, and income-generating activities, to help these vulnerable youth rebuild their lives. and later psychosocial support after recognize deep trauma among its beneficiaries in 2004. Since its inception, UNM has broadened its mission to address the needs of vulnerable populations across Rwanda, with particular focus on Economic empowerment, Child protection, and Mental health. it operates in the following districts: Gasabo, Nyarugenge, Kicukiro, Rwamagana, Kayonza, Nyagatare, Huye, Nyaruguru, and Rubavu.
